MP Doddamani meets Union rly min to take up K’buragi division work
Kalaburagi: Gulbarga Lok Sabha member Radhakrishna Doddamani met Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on Saturday and urged him to take necessary steps to complete several railway projects in this part, including establishment of Kalaburagi railway division.
Radhakrishna stressed in his memorandum that a new railway division for Kalaburagi was sanctioned in the interim budget of 2014-15, and a grant of Rs 5 crore was also reserved.
The state govt has provided the land required for the project free of cost. “There is already a lot of delay in setting up the division. The railway bogie factory, established in an area of about 150 acres in the industrial area of Kadechur Badial in Yadgiri district, is not able to manufacture the required number of bogies. Even after several years, this work has not been taken up. So, expansion of the said factory is necessary, and action should be taken,” he added.
He also said that construction of two pit lines on north and south sides of Kalaburagi railway station was sanctioned. “The pit line work on the south side is completed and is operational but it is not functioning in the northern part,” he pointed.
He also sought that the work of Gadag-Wadi new railway line connecting Kalyana Karnataka region with Mumbai Karnataka is going on at a slugging pace and needs to be completed soon. TNN
