Jr docs call off strike after nod to budget

Hyderabad: Telangana Junior Doctors’ Association (TJUDA) on Wednesday called off their indefinite strike after the state govt issued orders related to budget sanctions as per their demands.
The state released 603 crore and issued govt orders for stipends and expenditure towards meeting other demands of the junior doctors, over the last two days.
Meanwhile, TJUDA, in an official statement, announced the end of their strike said that the quick response of health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha in addressing their concerns and towards improving health infrastructure was “nothing short of extraordinary”.
“We are delighted to announced that multiple govt orders have been issued concerning the enhancement of medical college infrastructure. These include implementing a budget release order (green channel) for the clearance of stipends. Sanctioning of budget for new hostel buildings at Osmania Medical College, medical colleges as well as budget for road infrastructure improvements at Kakatiya Medical College were also issued. Also, amendment to the super specialty order at the earliest has been issued,” TJUDA said on Wednesday.
The health minister said that a new building would be constructed for Osmania Hospital. The health minister said that many issues pending for 10 years were brought to his attention by the junior doctors on June 15 and their problems have been solved within 10 days.
