Porn-addict dad held for killing girl after rape bid

HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old delivery agent, who allegedly tried to force himself on his 13-year-old daughter and later murdered her when she resisted his advances, was arrested by Miyapur police on Wednesday.
Police said the accused was addicted to porn and committed the crime under its influence. Police said they got a breakthrough thanks to a camera footage in which the girl and the accused were seen walking together into the forest area in Miyapur and later only the agent was seen coming out.
Initially, a missing case was registered on June 7 after the accused himself filed a complaint at Miyapur police station.The girl's decomposed body was found in a forest area at Miyapur on June 14.
Based on CCTV footage, cops zeroed in on the accused who, during the inquiry, confessed to have killed his daughter. When the girl's body was found, he was the first to identify her.
Based on CCTV footage, police identified that the accused and the girl were on a bike together. P Narsimha Rao, ACP, Miyapur, said the family belonging to Mahabubnagar district migrated to the city on June 1 for a livelihood and began residing at Miyapur. The girl's mother is a daily wager.
On June 7, around 9 am, the girl left home saying that she did not want to stay with her parents. One of her relatives saw the girl on the road and informed the accused father who was at home. He rushed to the girl on his bike and spoke to her saying that they will go to the forest and get firewood. He parked the bike on the road and walked deep into the forest along with his daughter.
Once inside the forest area, the accused allegedly tried to rape her. When the daughter warned him that she would tell her mother, he got furious and rained blows on her face. When she fell unconscious, he allegedly smothered her to death and fled from the place.
Then, he went home, changed clothes and came back to the spot to check if his daughter was dead. Then, he went to his wife's workplace, told her that their daughter was 'missing' and lodged the complaint with police.
What was shocking is that the accused made rounds to the police station, pleading with cops to trace his 'missing' daughter. "Every time he visited the police station seeking to trace the girl, he would be in tears," said an investigator. He was remanded in judicial custody.
