Kaleshwaram SI arrested on charges of raping cop
Sub-inspector PVS Bhavani Sen, the station house officer of Kaleswaram police station in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, was arrested on charges of raping a woman constable working at the same police station at gun point.
Action was initiated against Sen after the 42-year-old head constable lodged a complaint with police.
The woman said that last week Sen called her over the phone, asking her to come to his official residence near the police station to help him as he was ill. Police prima facie found that when she went there, he threatened her with his service weapon and raped her. On Sunday again, when she was at her house, he barged in and raped her. He threatened her with dire consequences if she spoke of the incident to anyone and left the place.

The woman cop gathered courage and reported the issue to top officials and a complaint was lodged at the same police station where both work. A case was registered against him on Wednesday. Meanwhile, AV Ranganath, IG, Multi Zone I issued orders on Wednesday dismissing Sen from service, without an inquiry.
Bhavani Sen has been accused of sexually assaulting women in the past as well. In July 2022, a case was registered against him at Rebbena police station, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district, for allegedly sexually harassing a woman. Misusing his official position, he also allegedly sexually abused three more women constables in the past.
AV Ranganath said in an official release, "His repeated acts of sexual violence are tarnishing the image and honour of the police department. Hence, it is not fair to conduct an inquiry on him at this stage and so as per Article 311 of the Constitution, he is dismissed from the service without any inquiry."
