Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka along with revenue and housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday directed officials to submit a report after studying housing schemes for poor and middle class in other states to enable the govt to make allocations in the budget.
Three teams will be visiting Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Bengaluru in Karnataka and Mumbai in Maharashtra to study the housing schemes.
The officials will look at the policy, model, eligibility criteria, size of housing units. The state govt has already sanctioned 3,500 Indiramma houses in each of the 119 assembly constituencies as part of the Congress’ guarantees in its election manifesto.
The dy CM, during the pre-budget preparatory meeting on Monday, also directed housing officials to examine the possibility of taking up construction of affordable housing colonies between the ORR and the Regional Ring Road.
