HYDERABAD: As Congress party takes a massive lead in Telangana assembly elections, Revanth Reddy has emerged as a significant figure and also seen as a frontrunner for the top post, having dealt a substantial blow to chief minister KCR and the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS).

"Kudos to the immortals who kept Telangana's aspirations high in the sky... The time has come to fulfill the aspirations of the immortals and the aspirations of four crore people," said Reddy in a tweet as party took lead on over 65 seats.

This election, Reddy is contesting from two seats - his home constituency Kodangal and Kamareddy - and he is leading on both the seats.
Reddy has worn many hats during his political journey, showcasing adaptability and influence across various parties in Telangana.
While he was a student, Revanth Reddy was also associated with ABVP.
Revanth Reddy is MP in the Lok Sabha from INC representing Malkajgiri Constituency. Earlier, He was a two-time MLA in the Andhra Pradesh assembly from TDP in 2009 and 2014 and in the Telangana Assembly between 2014 and 2018, representing Kodangal Constituency.

In 2017, his defection to the Indian National Congress was considered a significant move in Telangana politics, bringing with it considerable influence and a loyal support base.
"Congress delivered Telangana and is the only party that can develop it. I joined the Congress to fulfil the real aspirations of Telangana's martyrs. Rahul Gandhi is bound to become next Prime Minister of India and together we will transform peoples' dream of real Telangana into reality," he had said after joining the grand-old-party.
In 2019, Revanth Reddy contested the general elections as a Congress candidate and won the Lok Sabha seat of Malkajgiri.
In June 2021, he was appointed as president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC).
Born on November 8, 1969, in Kondareddy Pally, Mahbubnagar district, Telangana, Revanth Reddy started his political journey with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Revanth Reddy has been known for his vocal stance against the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government.
