CM Revanth calls on guv over cabinet expansion
Hyderabad: Amid intense speculation about a possible state cabinet expansion soon, chief minister A Revanth Reddy called on in-charge governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan on Monday.
Along with the cabinet expansion, the issue of filling two pending MLC posts was also discussed in the meeting, sources said, adding the governor may seek advice from the Union home ministry on the matter.

It is said that the names of five or six MLAs for ministerial berths have been decided upon. On Dec 7, 2023, Revanth took charge along with 11 cabinet colleagues. Telangana high court quashed the nomination of Professor M Kodandaram and Amer Ali Khan as members of the Telangana state legislative council under the governor’s quota while disposing of the case filed by Dasoju Sravan and Kurra Satyanarayana, who were nominated by the former BRS govt but rejected by then governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Challenging Tamilisai’s action, the BRS leaders had filed writ petitions in Telangana high court. Following the court’s order, they appealed to the present governor to appoint them as MLCs.
Congress govt, according to sources, wanted to recommend the names of Prof Kodandaram and Amer Ali again and the governor needs to take a call on the issue again. “Since it is a sensitive matter, the governor will take the opinion of home ministry,” said a source.
The two MLC posts under the governor’s quota have been pending for eight months and have not been filled yet.
Sources said Revanth is also understood to have briefed the governor on the bills to be tabled in the assembly in the upcoming budget session.

It is speculated that the CM also discussed about a few pending bills like private universities, the panchayat raj amendment and two pending bills.
Along with these, the both also discussed on new bills on medical sciences, factories, minority commission and GST. Sources said the CM met the governor as a customary practice ahead of the budget session.
During the BRS govt tenure, KCR nevervmet Tamilisai before the budget session.
