Congress condemns exclusion of Manipur crisis from Prez speech
IMPHAL: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) working president Kh Devabrata Singh on Saturday condemned the omission of the ongoing state crisis in President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the joint sitting of Parliament on Thursday.
Talking to the media at the MPCC head office here, Singh even questioned whether it was an offshoot of a conspiracy hatched by the Centre to undermine the issue or just to highlight that normalcy has returned to the state.
“We condemn the exclusion of Manipur crisis from the President’s speech. We are asking whether the honorable Prime Minister will continue to neglect the issue because the speech is prepared under the approval of the Union cabinet.”
He added, “The President’s speech has to be equitable and must carry the voice of justice. It is not a mouthpiece of the present NDA govt sworn in recently. PM Narendra Modi’s negligence of Manipur is condemnable. We must condemn it,” he said.
