Glitches in e-Nagar Palika portal reduce IMC’s tax collection by ₹32cr
Indore: Amid technical issues persisting with e-Nagar Palika portal, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) from Monday extended the last date to pay advance taxes and avail the rebate for next one month.
Though IMC has extended the deadline to pay the property and water tax in advance, civic body is still waiting for the technical glitches reported with e-Nagar Palika portal to get resolved while it's giving tough time to the taxpayers in clearing the dues or depositing taxes in advance.

The opposition has been accusing IMC for allegedly sending inflated bills along with summoning the taxpayers with SMSes and notices as the civic body doesn’t have the ‘actual’ demands to ask for.
Technical problems persisting with the portal has also made a major impact on IMC’s revenue that stopped at around Rs 115 crore by end of June, less by around Rs 32 crore as compared to the last year’s revenue of Rs 147.5 crore generated in the corresponding period.
“The state government has permitted IMC to develop its own portal, for which, a tender is expected to be floated in next around one-and-a-half months,” IMC additional commissioner Abhilash Mishra said adding that e-Nagar Palika portal is presently working slow and thus, the taxpayers are requested to keep patience in submitting the taxes.
