ITI Indore starts courses on hospitality
Indore: Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under the department of technical education are collaborating with different industry stakeholders to start new courses and create a pool of industry ready talent.
Under the Dual System of Training Scheme (DST), ITI, Indore has started new courses on hospitality to train students for different roles in the sector.

The institute has started two trades in collaboration from the new academic session in the hospitality sector that includes front office and food beverages. The tenure of the course is one year, which will include six months theory and six months training with the hotel.
ITI Indore division training and placement officer Meena Lohiya said, “We have started two courses in the hospitality sector. Demand from the hospitality sector for the workforce is huge and to bridge the gap we have signed a MoU with a luxury five star hotel in Indore under DST to train students as front office executives, management roles and other roles in the hospitality sector.”
Admission to the course has started from the new academic session for 20 seats each in front office and food beverages trades. “The agreements under DST with different stakeholders will help in increasing the employment opportunity as industries will get a ready talent pool. As there is a provision of inhouse training in the agreement, students will be trained as per the latest requirement and technology,” said Lohiya. ITIs across the state are adding new courses to bridge the demand gap and add trending requirements from the industry. TNN
