New law like a ‘bahu’ adjusting to new kitchen: Vijayvargiya
Indore: Madhya Pradesh minister Kailash Vijayvargiya on Monday equated the implementation of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) to the troubles “a daughter-in-law of a large house lands in when the family moves to a new house and a new kitchen”.
Vijayvargiya, who was addressing an interaction organised by the Indore commissionerate in the evening, sought to justify the teething troubles police have to undergo in getting accustomed to the new laws.

“I was thinking about it. It’s like we are living in an old home with grandparents, children, sons and daughters-in-law and when we suddenly shift to a new home and face difficulties in adjusting. It is similar to when the ‘bahu’ (daughter-in-law) is asked to cook something in the new kitchen and she switches on the new burner improperly, thus resulting in a high flame which may burn the chapatis or tadka (tempering). Similarly, it will take time for police to adapt to the new changes,” Vijayvargiya said. tnn
