Seeking govt jobs, Ayush students reach BJP office
Jaipur: Ayush nursing students of the 2020 batch on Saturday staged a protest at BJP office in the city demanding jobs in govt hospitals.
The AYUSH nursing training batch of 2020, whose enrollment numbers are also from 2020, faced delays in their examinations due to Covid pandemic. As a result, the course duration extended beyond fur and half years, surpassing the standard three-year period.
“A week ago, an additional 315 positions (247 in ayurveda and 68 in homeopathy) that were vacated by the recent departmental promotion committee (DPC) were included in the ongoing recruitment process.
However, we were not given an equal opportunity to submit our applications, as our training was delayed due to the pandemic. It is important to note that we diligently performed our nursing duties with high standards throughout the pandemic," said Saroj Dudi, a candidate who came from Jodhpur to take part in the protest at the BJP headquarters.
She added that the sudents have completed their internship in April but the government is not considering them eligible for the posts due to the delay in examination.
The Congress government had announced open recruitment for all 947 vacant posts within the AYUSH department, comprising 495 in ayurveda, 288 in homeopathy, and 164 in Unani, during 2023. The selection process was to be based on the candidates' scores in their nursing diploma along with additional bonuses. As of now, only the initial stage of document verification has been finished in the hiring process, and the official list of selected candidates has not been published yet.

When the recruitment advertisement was originally published, our educational qualifications, including the results of the two and haldf years nursing course, were already complete. The merit list for recruitment is determined exclusively based on the theoretical study scores obtained from the institution. The remaining six months of internship do not impact the recruitment merit," said Deepika Saini, who took part in the protest.
