JAIPUR: A 26-year-old property businessman was shot dead on Thursday night in Jamwaramgarh.
SP Jaipur (Rural) Shantanu Kumar Singh said that the victim was identified as Mukesh Gurjar. He was present in a car along with three
friends, and they were drinking booze when one of the persons present inside the car shot Gurjar. He was rushed to Sawai Man Singh Hospital (SMS), where the doctor declared Gurjar dead upon arrival.
Singh said that the police have detained two of the friends, and the search for the third one is ongoing.
Preliminary investigation revealed that on Thursday night, Gurjar went out with his three friends. On the state highway near Andhi, the four friends were having a drinking party in a moving car. During the drinking party, a shot was fired, hitting Mukesh Gurjar in the head. Investigations are underway to determine who fired the shot and how it happened.
According to sources, the hospital administration informed the police about the incident late at night, following which the police reached the scene. Police officials said that the body was sent for a post-mortem at the SMS Hospital mortuary.
“The deceased was shot dead with an illegal weapon. We have detained two of the victim’s friends; one of the main suspects is currently on the run,” said an official.
