Passengers stuck at city airport as flight delayed
Jaipur: Passengers at Jaipur International Airport had to wait for over three hours Monday morning as an international flight to Dubai got delayed. In the past few weeks, this flight has been getting delayed almost twice every week, said officials.
A passenger waiting at the Jaipur Airport since 11pm on Sunday night said, “The flight was scheduled for early morning so I reached the airport in advance for all formalities.
But around 2am, it was rescheduled once to 7:45am from 5:30am. A few hours later the flight was rescheduled once again, and passengers were not given any update regarding the reason for the delay.”
Another passenger, Sameer Soral, took to social media platform X and said that there was chaos at Jaipur airport with no information.
Officials said that since the flooding incident at Dubai International Airport, flight operations from Jaipur have been affected.
“Even though facilities were restored, for smaller destinations with one or two flight services, it is taking time to restore to the earlier facilities. The early morning flight for Dubai reaches Jaipur after its scheduled time, which impacts the departure time,” said a senior official from Jaipur Airport.
Meanwhile, the Jaipur International Airport has now curated six dedicated DigiYatra lanes across all its four departure gates, said officials.
