Hisar Congress MP triggers controversy after his remark on women
JIND: Hisar Congress MP Jai Prakash (JP) triggered a controversy after he made a controversial remark on Tosham MLA Kiran Chaudhary who recently joined BJP after quitting Congress party. JP was addressing Congress workers in Uchana Kalan, part of Hisar lok sabha seat under Jind district.
“He said that in our patriarchal society women are not considered as heirs, reflecting a view that only men are legitimate heirs in matters of succession or inheritance.
She is not the heir of former and late chief minister Bansi Lal as his legacy belongs to his son Ranbir Singh Mahendra and grandson Anirrudh Chaudhary who are in Congress party. Hamare samaj me virasat aadmiyon se chalti hai mahilao se nahi” (in our society inheritance is carried on by men not by women), said JP.
He further added that "Kiran Choudhary would have come to realize her ‘haisiyat’ (status) if she had left Congress before Lok sabha elections. She and other leaders who were working for BJP behind the curtain betrayed Congress party and its candidate while being a member of the party."
Making an indirect attack on former union minister from Chaudhary Birender Singh seat Chaudhary Birender Singh who recently joined Congress party along with his son Brijendra Singh, Jai Prakash, “I didn’t get votes in the name of any Chaudhary from this segment but people supported me in the name of former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and MP Deepender Singh Hooda. People contested my election from this lok sabha seat and few people backstabbed me. Birender Singh has become old now and we should respect him. However, one will get a ticket from Uchana kalan seat on the basis of survey only,” he added.
