City welcomes rains, many areas inundated
Kanpur: The city witnessed heavy rainfall on the first day of July . According to the met department of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, the city received a total of 80.8 mm of rainfall on Monday, the heaviest recorded this season so far.
It started pouring late on Sunday night and continued till Monday afternoon. This led to water stagnation at several places across the city.

The heavy rains brought about a change in the weather as day temperature fell three degrees, with maximum temperature recorded at 32.2 degree celsius.
There was also a dip in the minimum temperature which was recorded at 24.6 degree celsius. This was also about two degrees below the normal value.
The met stated that the city may witness rains accompanied with strong gusty winds till July 3.
