102 physically challenged women set a record in the India Book of Records by performing yoga at CSJM University during the yoga fortnight for International Yoga Day.

KANPUR: A group of 102 physically challenged women made their way into the India Book of Records when they performed yoga together at Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University on Thursday.
The programme was organised as a part of the yoga fortnight being observed under the International Yoga Day at CSJM University.
BJP MP Ramesh Awasthi, who was the chief guest, said, "I convey my best wishes to the VC for including disabled women in yoga practice and getting it registered in the India Book of World Records."
CSJM University vice-chancellor Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak, said, "When Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed International Yoga Day 10 years ago, no one had thought that it would gain so much fame at the global level."
Inspired by the same, the 'Yoga for Disabled Women' has been organized under Yoga Pakhwada, he said, adding that, "In the online Yoga Oath which started on June 12 and continued till June 18, the CSJM University grabbed top slot in the state with 2,88,134 oaths." Leading industrialist Vishwanath Gupta was the special guest.

Dean Dr Praveen Katiyar said that the yoga programme for disabled women is the most important part of the 'Yogotsav Fortnight'.

Yoga instructor Sonali Dhanwani imparted yoga training to the disabled people.
Tadasana, Vrikshasana, neck, shoulder and pranayama exercises were performed.
Adjudicator of India Book of Records Lata Tak presented the award of record title of 'Most specially-abled women participated in Yoga Session at a single venue', to the VC.
Senior ayurvedacharya Dr Vandana Pathak, pro vice-chancellor prof Sudhir Kumar Awasthi, dean of student welfare prof Neeraj Kumar Singh, registrar Dr Anil Kumar Yadav, assistant professor of physical education department, Yoga, Ram Kishore were present on the occasion.
