KOCHI: IMD issued an orange alert in three districts for Monday. Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod have been issued orange alert and the remaining districts except Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam have been issued yellow alert for Monday.
Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur were on red alert on Sunday. Good rainfall was received across the state, especially in Kannur and Kasaragod districts, after 8.30am on Sunday.
Kudlu station in Kasaragod recorded 8cm rainfall.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till June 27 due to squally weather with wind speed of 35 to 45kmph gusting to 55kmph likely along Kerala coast.
Meanwhile, the state recorded 43% deficiency in rainfall so far since June 1. Kerala should receive 488.6mm rainfall but has received only 277.9mm. Large deficient rainfall has been recorded in Wayanad, with only 40% of the normal rainfall. Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts recorded only 29% less rainfall.
