Youth held for stabbing man after verbal duel

Kochi: Ernakulam Rural police arrested a youth for allegedly stabbing a middle-aged man on Monday.
Pothanikkad police arrested Bibin alias Rasheed (30) from Mudipara, Idukki, who was living on rent near IOC petrol pump at Punnamattom. The incident occurred on Sunday. The crime was committed in the evening following a verbal altercation between the duo at a bakery at West Punnamattom.
Probe team included inspector V Sajin Shasi, SIs Roji George, Paulose M S Manoj, ASI V C Saji, SCPOs Abdul Rasheed, Lijesh Navas, and CPOs Sheeja and Shanavas. Victim is recuperating from injuries.
Probe into drug seizure:
Ernakulam rural police which seized 300g of MDMA last week have intensified probe to find remaining accused in the case.A 38-year-old man from Aluva Kuttamassery was caught with 300g of MDMA from Kariyad. Officers said a probe was on into the source from where he procured the drugs and into his customers.
The accused, Azad, was transporting drugs from Bengaluru by car and was apprehended at Kariyad in a daring operation. Two LSD stamps and nearly a kilogram of ganja were also found from him. Police said Azad was known to regularly transport synthetic drugs from Bengaluru to Kerala for sale. Rural police have earlier arrested kingpins of rackets supplying drugs to such peddlers.
Body of man yet to be identified:
Central police have issued a notice seeking information about a man in his late fifties who died at hospital and was yet to be identified. He was referred to Kottayam Medical College from Ernakulam General hospital for treatment due to some illnesses and he died at the medical college. He died on June 18 and his body has been stored at the medical college, police said.
