App-cab driver arrested in Kolkata for allegedly molesting passenger over AC dispute

NEW DELHI: An app-cab driver was arrested early Wednesday in Kolkata for allegedly abusing and molesting a woman passenger following an altercation over the air conditioner issue. The incident occurred after the woman, traveling from south Kolkata to Gariahat, raised a complaint against the driver.
In her complaint filed at the Jadavpur police station, the woman stated she booked the cab to travel to Gariahat.The driver reportedly abused her verbally before proceeding to molest her during an argument over the air conditioner.
"The driver verbally abused her before molesting her following an altercation on switching on the air conditioner. The woman managed to get down near the 8B bus stand in Jadavpur. She approached us and lodged a complaint," an officer told.
Following the complaint, a police team arrested the driver from the Kasba area. Additionally, the driver accused the woman of leaving the cab without paying the fare.
