KOZHIKODE: Sunni leader Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musaliyar on Wednesday termed statements that Muslims in Kerala were getting undue favours as unfortunate and said the state govt had the responsibility to clear any doubt in this regard though such allegations were totally false.
Addressing the media in Kozhikode in connection with the 99th foundation day of Samastha, Kanthapuram demanded that the govt should publish a white paper on representation of various communities in political positions of power as well as in govt jobs.

Remarks in backdrop of SNDP chief’s statement
The remarks of Kanthapuram, who heads one of the two Samastha factions, came in the wake of SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan’s recent statement that LDF was pondering over how to appease minority communities, especially Muslims, and it has been giving whatever the Muslim community demands, but not what the Ezhava community asks. AP Samastha leaders Syed Ali Bafaqi Thangal Koyilandy and Sayyid Ibrahimul Khaleelul Bukhari, who also addressed the media, said everyone should desist from making statements that could create hatred among communities.
They said Samastha Kerala Jem Iyyathul Ulema (AP faction) had initiated efforts for coordination of community leaders at the national level for protection of constitutional rights of minority communities. Major minority communities like Muslim, Christian and Sikh are going through similar bad experiences, they said. "We will hold discussions with leaders of minority communities in this regard," Kanthapuram said. Moves aimed at othering minorities cannot be allowed, he added. Samastha leaders said the strengthening of 'bulldozer raj' in the country was shocking and targeted arbitrary attacks on minorities were being reported from various places. Residential buildings and places of worship are getting demolished, they said. On the NEET paper leak, they said the Centre should allow state govts to conduct entrance tests under the supervision of National Testing Agency
