Lucknow: An evening filled with
dance and music captivated the audience at Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya on Saturday.
The performers, ranging from children to elderly participants, showcased various art forms they learned during the 40-day summer workshop organized by the university.
Shashank Parthsarthy, a 10-year-old from Tamil Nadu, performed classical music.
"More than playing video games, I like to sing classical songs because I find them peaceful," he said.
A folk song titled, ‘Ramji se pooche janakpur ki nari’, was performed by middle-aged and elderly individuals.
Minister of Social Welfare (Independent Charge) Asim Arun, who was also the chief guest at the event, praised the university for its efforts. "It is very commendable that Bhatkhande is promoting ‘guru shishya’ tradition and promoting classical music among youngsters," he said. TNN
