AYODHYA: Days after parts of Ram Path in Ayodhya caved in after the first pre-monsoon rain, the Ayodhya administration has constituted a committee to probe into the charge of negligence in the newly constructed 14-km stretch.
A committee comprising experts from all the departments concerned has been constituted to investigate and submit the report within 15 days, said Ayodhya Commissioner Gaurav Dayal.

"The move is to get into the reasons for depressions around sewage chambers/manholes," he said.
The state govt has already suspended six officials, three each from the public works department (PWD) and Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam, for gross negligence in the construction of the Ram Path and laying of sewer lines beneath the road, the parts of which were damaged after rain on June 23 and June 25 night.
Nearly 15 bylanes and streets situated along the Ram Path were also severely waterlogged after the showers, said reports.
The state govt has also issued a notice to Ahmedabad-based contractor firm Bhuvan Infracom Private Limited in connection with the matter.
The commissioner said that Ram Path has been constructed with quality as per the standards.
"There is an area in this path where the sewer line was laid. Due to lack of compaction, potholes at 6-7 places occurred here," he said while insisting that in the past two years, over 5,500 chambers have been built in the entire Ayodhya, out of which only 8 or 9 places have faced such problems, that too due to excessive rainfall.
"Around 30% of the average rainfall of the entire rainy season in the district was received in just 2 days, due to which this problem occurred," he said.
