Lucknow: With
Uttar Pradesh securing investments worth Rs 25,000 crore for the six nodes of the ambitious Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) project, the state govt expects to generate employment opportunities for 40,000 youths.
According to the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) officials, a total of 154 MoUs have been signed for UPDIC so far, out of which 129 are industrial and 25 are institutional.
The state’s six Defence Industrial Corridor nodes are located in Agra, Aligarh, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chitrakoot, and Jhansi.
Additionally, 87 MoUs are currently under evaluation. UPEIDA has acquired over 1,600 hectares of land so far, out of which over 700 hectares have been allocated to 42 industrial groups. TNN
