Land acquisition for industrial corridors along 6 e-ways on
Lucknow: To boost entrepreneurship and scale higher standards of ease of doing business, the Uttar Pradesh govt has decided to develop industrial corridors along six expressways for which the process of land acquisition has begun, officials said.
The industrial corridors will come up along Ganga Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, the under-construction Gorakhpur Link Expressway, Agra Lucknow Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway and the proposed Chitrakoot Link Expressway, an official spokesperson said, adding that relevant instructions had been issued by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“These corridors will play a crucial role in the state’s industrial transformation, significantly contributing to its economic growth and development. The corridors will help in the creation of thousands of jobs,” he said.
Stating that Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will spend Rs 8,000 crore to develop these corridors, the spokesperson said: “Industrial corridors will be developed in 29 districts at 30 locations, covering more than 5,500 hectares of land.” “Land acquisition for the project is in advanced stages. Under the Chief Minister Industrial Area Expansion and New Industrial Area Promotion Scheme, 1,812 hectares (4,477 acres) of land has been purchased at 25 locations, costing over Rs 3,200 crore,” an official said. Procurement of land has begun along the Bundelkhand Expressway in Banda, Jalaun, Auraiya, Mahoba, Chitrakoot, and Hamirpur, acquisition is underway in Meerut, Hardoi, Sambhal, Unnao, Amroha, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Pratapgarh, Hapur, Prayagraj, and Rae Bareli. Purchase of land is on in Sultanpur, Ghazipur, Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki, and Amethi along the Purvanchal Expressway, and in Ambedkarnagar (Gorakhpur Link Express) and Etawah (Agra Lucknow Expressway).
Officials said that the process of land purchase is yet to be started in Kanpur Nagar, Agra, Kannauj and Firozabad along the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and in Lucknow for Purvanchal Expressway. So far, 1,812 hectares of land has been purchased against the govt’s target of 5,598 hectares.
The most significant land purchase has been done in Meerut, Sambhal, Unnao and Hardoi nodes, and UPEIDA is planning development in these areas.
