Gujarat firm’s hand in paper leak revealed only after promoters fled country: Akhilesh Yadav
LUCKNOW: Expressing concern over the recent revelation that the police recruitment exam paper was leaked by a Gujarat based firm, which was contracted to conduct the exams, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav said the fact was made public only after the company bosses fled India unchecked.
On Thursday, the state government has formally announced that the Gujarat-based company entrusted with the job of conducting the police recruitment exam has been black-listed.
It was also made public that the company bosses have already fled India.
“Black-listing the company is an eyewash to escape the ire of the 60 lakh youths who appeared for the exam and their family members. The state government should make public the FIR lodged against the company responsible for the crime. The government should show the courage of sending police teams from UP to Gujarat to attach the property of those involved in the crime. It is time for the BJP to prove to the 60 lakh aspirants who appeared for the recruitment exam if the state government is with the cheated jobless youths or the company bosses who leaked the paper,” Akhilesh said in a statement issued on Friday.
The former UP CM said the government must screen the credentials of every company operating in UP to verify if they have a clean background. “If tainted companies are given businesses and contracts by the government, it remains unsaid for the people that the high and mighty in the respective government departments have some interest or the other in such tainted companies,” he said.
Akhilesh said when contracts are handed over to firms without any checks and balances and when these companies indulge in illegal acts, the reputation of the state suffers a dent.
“Each and every official and minister associated with the recruitment process must be screened for their involvement and till the time this screening is completed these individuals should be kept away from govt work, so that they cannot influence the probe,” Akhilesh said.

“People of the state are wondering if the UP govt's bulldozers have the permit and courage to enter other states? People are wondering if the bulldozers will turn to officials and ministers under whom the police recruitment exam was held,” he said.
