LUCKNOW: Rebutting the claim by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, about lack of compensation to those displaced due to infrastructural development in Ayodhya, CM Yogi Adityanath said Rs 1,733 crore has been distributed as compensation till now.
Accusing him of wanting to defame UP and Ayodhya, Yogi said: “We have seen Rahul Gandhi making false and misleading statements during Lok Sabha polls.
Congress and other members of INDIA bloc tried to undermine the Constitution and influence polls using foreign funds, spreading misleading claims about the Constitution. They deceived the mothers and sisters by having them fill out a fake bond worth Rs 1 lakh. Once again, he has made a false statement, which is highly shameful.”
Everyone knows who deprived Ayodhya of its identity, says CM
The CM claimed that everyone was aware of who had actually “deprived Ayodhya of its identity”. He said that Gandhi and his colleagues had not only neglected Ayodhya but had also stained the Saryu river with blood. Now that Ayodhya was getting global attention, he said, Congress was getting upset.
“Congress is spreading a web of lies. The truth is that Rs 1,733 crore has been provided to the people of Ayodhya as compensation, whether for Ram Path, Bhakti Path, Janmabhoomi Path, or the airport. We have built shops for those who had space at the back, and for those who didn’t, we have constructed multi-level complexes,” he said.
He called Gandhi’s statements a fabrication and said that this reflected a mentality aimed at tarnishing the image of India and Ayodhya, a mentality that “these so-called Hindus have perpetuated since independence”.
