Former Juvenile Justice Board judge goes missing in Meerut
Meerut: Former judge of the Juvenile Justice Board in Meerut and senior advocate Ravi Kumar Malhotra has been missing since Wednesday evening. His car was found parked near a police outpost in Jani police circle in the district on Friday, said police.
Prajvant Tyagi, the SHO of Jani, told TOI, “Malhotra has been missing since Wednesday evening. The family filed a missing complaint, stating that he left the house to see a psychiatrist but did not return.
They mentioned he was suffering from depression and was supposed to see a doctor. He also mentioned he was visiting a friend, an advocate, but he did not go there either.”
SHO added, “CCTV installed at the outpost captured him stepping out of the car and walking near the banks of the upper Ganga canal thrice. There is speculation that Malhotra may have jumped into the canal. A unit of the Provincial Armed Constabulary with 12 divers has been conducting searches in the canal within 5 km range and police teams have been deployed.” Krishna Chaudhary
