Congress team to meet BEST officials over power outage
Mumbai: With a series of complaints on power outages in parts of island city over the past two months, a delegation from Mumbai Congress will meet BEST general manager Anil Diggikar on Tuesday with a petition to demand uninterrupted power supply.
The delegation will comprise legislator Bhai Jagtap and former BMC opposition leader Ravi Raja besides MRCC office-bearers.

“There have been repeated power outages in parts of the island city — some of them for as long as 24 to 36 hours in a few slum pockets. This is unwarranted. People are majorly inconvenienced due to the power cuts and the helplines dont function most of the time,” said Raja.
Raja said the delegation will also point out the installation of smart meters whose consumers lately complained of ‘inflated power bills’ after replacement of conventional meters. tnn
