Mumbai experienced hot and humid conditions on Tuesday, even as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy to moderate rainfall for the city and its surrounding areas for the next two to four days.
Santacruz recorded a maximum day temperature of 36.4C, 5above normal, with relative humidity of 73% at 8.30am, which dropped to 63% by 5.30pm. Rainfall recorded in IMD's Santacruz observatory was 0.2mm.
Colaba was hot at 33.2C with a relative humidity of 82% in the morning, which dropped by 9% in the evening. Minimum temperatures at both Colaba and Santacruz observatories stayed at 26C.
IMD officials said the city is likely to get heavy rains in isolated places on Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday, rainfall will be moderate. Both Dahanu and Panvel experienced a hot Tuesday with day temperatures at 34C. For Raigad, IMD issued an orange alert for Thursday and Friday with chances of heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places.
