Mandya: Nearly a dozen bus passengers were injured after the KSRTC bus in which they were travelling fell into a stream near Ragimuddanahalli Gate on Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway on Saturday. About ten passengers with minor injuries were shifted to hospitals.
The Mysuru-bound bus from Bengaluru hit a car and three two-wheelers before falling into the stream.
According to the SP Yatish N, on Saturday around 1pm the incident happened. “According to the information we received, 20 passengers were travelling in the bus. The bus stormed from the main carriageway to the service road where it hit bikes and a car. From the service road, it fell into the stream,” he said.
The bus driver has sustained leg fracture. Investigation is underway to know the cause of accident, the SP said.
Locals alleged that the accident site now has become a black spot. “At least five accidents have happened at the spot in the recent past. The occurrence of accidents were because of speeding,” they claimed. Locals helped the police in shifting the injured to the hospital.
