Water at KRS crosses 94-ft mark

Mysuru: The water level at KRS Dam has crossed the 94-feet mark and is inching closer to the 100-feet mark, although the inflow to major reservoirs in the Cauvery basin in Karnataka has decreased due to a break in rain on Sunday.
According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) data, on Saturday inflow to KRS dam was 18,644 cusecs.It fell to 12,867 cusecs on Sunday. The water level at the dam touched 94.4 feet.
Water level at Kabini dam at HD Kote taluk of Mysuru district touched 2276.3 feet on Sunday as against a maximum level of 2284 feet and has an inflow of 9,179 cusecs. Similarly, Hemavati dam in Hassan received 5,569 cusecs of water while Harangi dam in Kodagu received 294 cusecs.
On Sunday, both Malnad and south interior Karnataka region recorded moderate rainfall. The entire region recorded cloudy weather with light to moderate rainfall in most areas of Kodagu, Shivamogga, and Chikkamagaluru districts. In Mysuru, Mandya, and Chamarajanagar, light rainfall was reported from many places.
