Samruddhi report delayed, Anil Deshmukhblasts govt
Nagpur: Former home minister Anil Deshmukh on Monday raised concerns in the Maharashtra assembly over the delay in the report from the panel investigating fatal accidents on the Samruddhi Expressway. The panel, formed a year ago under the deputy transport commissioner, is yet to submit its findings.
“Accidents are continuing on the expressway leading to deaths of innocents, but the panel has failed to file a report till date,” Deshmukh said.

Chief minister Eknath Shinde had announced the formation of the panel on July 2, 2023, following an accident near Buldhana that claimed 25 lives. “Wardha based families of those who lost lives Wardha often enquire about the panel findings. The panel was told to find out the causes behind the spate of fatal accidents,” Deshmukh said.
During the adjournment motion, the Katol MLA told the assembly bereaved families are yet to get the Rs25 lakh compensation announced by deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. “I request the Mahayuti govt to expedite the disbursement of the funds,” Deshmukh said.
As many as 25 people were charred to death when a bus travelling from Nagpur to Pune caught fire after an accident on the Samruddhi expressway on June 29 last year.
