4 feared drowned while making reels in Bihar's Khagaria

KHAGARIA/PATNA: Four youth were feared drowned while making social media reels in Khagaria district on Saturday. Six youth, all friends, were at Aguwani ghat , shooting a video in the Ganga river. Four of them, aged 16 to 22 years, went missing, while two, including a girl, were rescued after they began drowning in the river in the morning.
Police said local divers saved two lives when the group of the youth were playing in the water and making videos near Aguwani bridge.When they slipped into the deep water and started screaming for help, the local divers jumped into the river and rescued two of them. Both were later admitted to the Gogri Referral Hospital.
Station house officer (SHO) Arvind Kumar told TOI that six youth, including a girl, hailing from Kulhariya and Bharsoh villages, went to the Ganga ghat to take bath and started shooting for the reels, during which they reached almost midcourse of the river and started drowning.
“The locals informed the police about the incident. Two of them were safely rescued while four are still missing. Apart from local divers, a ten-member team of SDRF were involved in the search operation, which was suspended due to darkness of night,” he added.
