Patna: The partially decomposed body of a police officer’s 16-year-old son was recovered from their house under construction in Maharani Colony under Bypass police station of Patna on Friday. Police suspect that Anubhav Kumar, son of sub-inspector Vijay Kumar Shahi who is posted in Araria district, died by
suicide.
“Prima facie, the teenager appears to have died by suicide as no traces of external injuries were found on the body, which was on verge of getting decomposed.
He must have died at least three days ago. Further investigation is on,” Bypass station house officer (SHO) Rajesh Kumar Jha said.
According to the police, Kumar had gone missing after attending his coaching classes on May 20.
Body of SI’s son found on terrace of his house: SHOK umar was a Class X student of Simultala Residential School, Jamui, and had come home on May 1 for summer vacations. He had joined special classes in his locality for the vacation.
Jha said the teenager's family had lodged a missing persons' complaint on May 22. “His mother said she last spoke to him around 8.45pm on May 20, after which his phone was switched off. On Friday morning, the neighbours complained of a foul smell coming from the building the family was constructing near their house. Upon inspection, Kumar’s body was found on the terrace.”
He added that upon scanning the CCTV camera footage of the house under construction, it was found that Kumar entered the house alone on May 20, carrying a black plastic bag. “A wrapper of pesticide, a plastic glass, a disposable plate and his mobile were recovered from the scene,” the SHO said. The police have taken the possession of the body and sent it for postmortem to Nalanda Medical College and Hospital in Patna.
