CPI: INDIA bloc must share seats with left parties in assembly polls
Ranchi: INDIA bloc should give proper accommodation to left parties in seat-sharing agreement in Jharkhand state assembly elections in the later part of this year, CPI national secretary D Raja said on Saturday.
Talking to media persons at CPI state office in Ranchi, he said the matter would be raised in the INDIA bloc meeting in July.
The statement has come in the backdrop of claims by CPI during the Parliamentary elections that the main political parties in Jharkhand namely JMM, Congress and RJD ignored them in the seat sharing talks.
The CPI had fought from four parliamentary seats in the elections.
Raja welcomed the Jharkhand high court decision to grant bail to former CM Hemant Soren, adding he hopes justice would prevail. He added, “Modi govt is using agencies like CBI and ED to intimidate and cripple opposition party leaders.”
