Ranchi: Jharkhand police have formed several apex committees and sub-committees for effective implementation of the three new laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam — in the state.
The apex committees led by director general (DG) (criminal investigation department), additional director general (ADG) (technical), ADG (Jharkhand Armed Police), and special secretary (home) are working towards technical upgradation of infrastructure and training of personnel in the newly implemented laws.

The sub-committees comprising police personnel and officers of other departments, including information technology, are working on training, infrastructure, and additional resources.
Speaing to TOI, inspector general (Operation) Amol Homkar said, “Training of police personnel are under way at the Investigation Training School (ITS), Ranchi, and also online. Officers from IPS rank to the investigation officers are participating in the programmes.”
The exercise has been under way at ITS, Ranchi, since February. The plan slowed down in May due to parliamentary elections.
The online and hybrid mode of imparting training to officials continued during the period.
Earlier, Jharkhand police got 201 officers educated as master trainers under Bureau of Police Research and Development. Two phases of integrated training for police and other pillars of criminal justice system, including forensic science officials and public prosecutors were held in June.
District-level training started from June 10, monitored by deputy inspector generals. Police had set a target to train around 10,170 personnel by June 30.
