Girl student faints in class, dies
Namakkal: A class VI student suddenly fainted in class and later died at a government school in Rasipuram on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as S Kanishka, 12, from R Pudupatty near Rasipuram, collapsed during class hours around 11am.
The teachers rushed her to the government primary health centre at R Pudupatty. Later, she was shifted to the government hospital in Rasipuram where doctors declared her brought dead.
Kanishka’s father, Shanmugam, 39, revealed that she had been suffering from a ventricular septal defect (VSD) - a congenital heart defect since birth and had undergone treatment in Andhra Pradesh.

The body was handed over to the parents on the same evening following a post-mortem. Namagiripettai police initiated an inquiry.
