Shimla: In a scathing attack on the opposition,
Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday said Jai Ram Thakur and other BJP leaders were “addicted to lying”.
Sukhu said Thakur – the former CM and leader of opposition in Himachal assembly – was “day dreaming” and the saffron party was not going to come to power by lying.
Earlier, Jai Ram Thakur kept claiming that the BJP govt will be formed in Himachal Pradesh on June 4 but he was proved wrong and now he is making fun of himself by giving new dates for the formation of the BJP govt in the state, Sukhu said while campaigning for his wife and Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur at Dhar, Bhatehar, Masrur, Dhangad, Bilaspur, Sakri, Lower Sunehat, Sunehat, Dayal, Dhajag and Haar in the Dehra assembly constituency.
The chief minister said former legislator and BJP candidate Hoshyar Singh should tell the people of Dehra why he resigned from his assembly membership and why he was now contesting the byelection to become the MLA again. The BJP leaders and Hoshyar Singh have imposed this byelection on the public, the chief minister he said.
The Congress has 38 MLAs in the assembly and BJP is not going to come to power under any circumstances. The former MLA (Hoshyar Singh) was only concerned about his hotels and resorts and never came to me with public works, claimed Sukhu.
While making an appeal to the electorate to vote for Kamlesh Thakur in the July 10 bypoll, the chief minister said there would be no let-up in the development of Dehra assembly constituency and ample funds would be made available to provide roads, electricity and water to the local residents.
