Shimla: From the stroke of midnight that ushers July 1, all cases in Himachal Pradesh will be registered under the new criminal laws, and police are ready and trained for this migration.
Additional director general of police (law and order) Abhishek Trivedi said that: “From July 1, all cases will be registered under the new criminal laws and our judicial, forensic, and prison officers have trained with the master trainers in every police station for this for the administration of criminal justice.
Head constable and above ranks received advanced training. Changes were made based on the technological requirements of the times.”
He said the new laws will bring uniformity across the country in filing e-FIR (electronic first-information report). Mobile phones and their applications will come into play. Along with the police, the others also must learn to use technology. tnn
