Surat: Secretary of Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM), Vikrant Kapadia, was at the centre of a controversy on Thursday following his post on migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Kapadia shared the post of boycotting the migrants from these states on his Facebook page and later deleted it. On his profile, Kapadia claims that BTSM is associated with the RSS.
Kapadia’s wife Tejal is vice-president of Surat city BJP.
Another post surfaced on his page during the day which stated: “My Facebook account has been hacked during the past three days and none of the posts were by me. Even though, if any controversial post has been shared then I apologize on behalf of the person who posted it.” The issue was raised by former Congress municipal councillor, Aslam Cyclewala. Despite several attempts, Kapadia was not available for comments. There have been multiple posts made in support of BJP on his FB wall in the past three days.
