Former employee attack store manager with sickle, constable arrest him

A former employee, Gaikwad, attacked store manager Deshmukh with a sickle over enmity. Thane police swiftly arrested Gaikwad, preventing a serious incident. Deshmukh is stable after receiving medical treatment. The case was filed under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and other acts.

THANE: A former employee of a spices store has been arrested by the Thane Nagar police after attacking the store manager with a sickle over a previous enmity near the station on monday morning.
The police said that the incident occurred around 8:30 AM when the manager, Sagar Nana Deshmukh 40, was walking to work along with one more person Suchit Shinde.

The accused, Harichandra Gaikwad, 30 the former employee, armed with a sickle attacked Deshmukh with a sickle, injuring his hand, Shinde also held his hand.
As Deshmukh resisted, a constable on patrolling duty swiftly arrived at the scene, pinned down the assailant, and arrested him with the weapon in hand.
According to the police, Gaikwad was fired from his job after Deshmukh complained to the store owner over their small tiff. Enraged, Gaikwad planned the attack. but, the timely intervention by the constable prevented a more serious incident.
Deshmukh is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries, and his condition is stable. This is the second case registered under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita under Thane police commissionerate.
The case has been registered under section 118 (2) (Voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means.) and 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Arms Act and also Maharashtra Police Act.
