THANE: The Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) has suspended a senior clerk for not performing her duties on time.
The suspended clerk, identified as Purva Ingale, is accused of not forwarding a file on time to the concerned department for further action.
According to UMC sources, the clerk failed to forward the file on time despite the orders of senior officials, after which action was taken by UMC Commissioner Aziz Sheikh.

The UMC sources mentioned that on June 10, some citizens had sent an email regarding civic-related issues in Ulhasnagar city, warning UMC of a protest on July 1.
The sources explained that after receiving the email on June 13, Senior Clerk Purva Ingale did not forward it to a senior officer for action. As a result, senior officials were not informed about the demands made by the complainant and were unable to resolve the issue.
Sources also noted that Ingale had repeatedly made the same mistakes in the past, despite warnings from senior officers not to hold onto files. Consequently, UMC Commissioner Aziz Sheikh decided to send a strong message among civic employees not to make such mistakes by suspending Ingale.
