A 52-year-old man who had consumed poison after Perumpazhuthoor service cooperative bank in Thiruvananthapuram allegedly refused to give back his deposit sum of Rs 5 lakh - which he wanted to utilize for his daughter's marriage expenses - died on Thursday.
Somasagaram, son of Yesudas of Pulimoodu Puthen Veedu near Maruthathoor at Neyyattinkara, had consumed pesticide on April 19 due to the worry over his financial issues as he could not find money for the marriage and house renovation.

Somasagaram, found unconscious by his family members, was rushed to Neyyattinkara taluk hospital and from there to the medical college hospital.
A farmer, Somasagaram had deposited the money at the bank and counted on it when the marriage was fixed. He has been behind it for the last six months, but the bank authorities sent him back citing one reason after another.
Bank authorities admitted Somasagaram had approached the bank seeking money, but added he did not inform them about the gravity of the situation.
"We never thought that he would end life as he used to speak to us so softly whenever he visited the bank. We never felt he was facing such a serious financial issue. After the issues over Kandala Service Cooperative Bank came up, people started withdrawing money massively due to the fear of losing money. It affected the bank badly and the deceased approached us asking for money during that time. We had no option but to seek more time from him," said bank secretary Jayakumari.
Marayamuttam police have not named the bank authorities as an accused in the case but registered the case under section 174 of CrPC for unnatural death.
"We can confirm the role of bank authorities behind the death only after probe. If found guilty, their names will be added," police said.
