KSFDC to set up 5 theatre complexes
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala state film development corporation (KSFDC) will set up five new theatre complexes in state with the financial assistance of KIIFB. The other existing 17 theatres will also be upgraded with modern technology, culture minister Saji Cherian told the assembly on Thursday.
The new projects will be at Kayamkulam municipality in Alappuzha district (three screens), Vaikom in Kottayam, Alagappanagar panchayat in Thrissur, Payyannur and Payam in Kannur (two svreens each).

The minister said that construction works have already begun for some of these projects. Steps have been taken to hand over the land to KSFDC for constructing a theatre complex at Tanur in Malappuram and Perambra in Kozhikode.
