9 of family from Vadodara stranded in Sikkim floods

Vadodara: Nine members of a family from Vadodara are stranded in Sikkim due to the heavy rain and flooding there. The group had gone to Sikkim for a tour last week.
Relatives of the group pressed panic button when they could not contact the group for three days. Ramchandra Rana, a relative of the group, met Vadodara MP Dr Hemang Joshi seeking his help, after which the family could be reached through the district administration in Sikkim.
Rana said that his two sisters, a brother with his family, a nephew with his family, and mother-in-law had left for the tour on June 7.They initially travelled to Ahmedabad from where they went to Sikkim by air.
The group was reachable over their phones until three days back, but their phones were not reachable after that. Also, the family came to know of the floods with landslides in Sikkim.
Joshi spoke to officials in Sikkim and ensured that they reached out to the family and enquired about their well-being.
The family was safe and was provided accommodation in a hotel by the administration. A person of the group in Sikkim also spoke to Rana and informed him that they were safe.
