Woman dies as balcony collapses

Vadodara: An elderly woman died late on Sunday night due to injuries she sustained when the balcony of her house in Vijaynagar in Harni area of the city collapsed. The incident took place in the evening after which the woman was rushed to the hospital.
The woman Naina Jadhav (63) was sitting in the gallery on the second floor when the balcony collapsed.She was initially rushed to a private hospital and then to the SSG Hospital where she died in the night.
Vijaynagar was developed as a housing society for the lower-income group (PIG) by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) under the Indira Awas Yojana.
In the wake of the collapse engineers of the civic body visited the site to gather details.
