RSS chief to release book on Veer Abdul Hamid tomorrow

Varanasi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will release a book on Param Vir Chakra recipient Veer Abdul Hamid on the occasion of his birth anniversary at his residence in Dhamupur village of Ghazipur district on Monday.
Event convener Santosh Kumar Singh Yadav said during his visit to Hathiyaram Mutt in July last year, Bhagwat had felicitated families of many brave martyrs of Ghazipur.During the same event, Veer Abdul Hamid’s son Jainul Hassan had informed RSS chief about the book being written on his father and requested him to release it after its final publication, he said adding that the RSS chief had given his consent to come for releasing the book.
As the book authored by Dr Ramchandran Shrinivasan has been published, Yadav and Jainul contacted the RSS chief and it was decided that the book would be released on the occasion of the legendary martyr’s birth anniversary on July 1.
Yadav said all arrangements for the book release event have been made in Abdul Hamid’s village.
Ghazipur district magistrate Aryaka Akhouri and SP Omveer Singh on Friday evening reviewed the preparations of the proposed event at Shaheed Memorial Park of Dhamupur. The DM said all the preparations for the proposed event have been finalized.
The park has been beautified with interlocking tiles and painting while waterproof tents with seating arrangements of 2000 have also been ensured for guests. The 1965 Indo-Pak war hero is known for destroying Pakistan's Patton tanks with his RCL gun and compelling enemies to flee Khemkaran. He was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously.
