2-mth ‘Stop Diarrhoea’ drive during monsoon
Varanasi: A two-month long ‘Stop Diarrhoea’ campaign was launched in the district on Monday to protect children from diarrhoea during the rainy season.
An ORS Corner established at the SSPG Divisional Hospital in Kabirchaura area was inaugurated by MLA Neelkanth Tiwari and district magistrate S Rajalingam on the occasion. The campaign will be conducted for July and August under the Special Communicable Disease Control Campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the risk of diarrhoea in children increases during the rainy season.
The campaign has been launched to increase awareness about the use of ORS and Zinc during diarrhoea in children aged below five years and its management, treatment and counseling. He said that if symptoms of diarrhoea are seen in children aged below five years, they should immediately visit the nearest hospital or health centre to consult a doctor.
CMO Dr Sandeep Chaudhary said this time the theme of the campaign has been set as ‘Take care of diarrhea prevention, cleanliness and ORS’.
