Varanasi roads flood with people as city celebrates India’s victory
Varanasi: While the city roads and crossings were flooded with revelers celebrating the victory of team India in the T20 World Cup final late on Saturday night, people in rural areas were also found indulged in dancing and bursting fireworks .
After the delivery of the last ball led team India pulling off a sensational seven-run win against South Africa, massive fireworks started in most of the city localities.

Besides, people in large numbers gathered on the streets near prominent crossings to celebrate India’s victory.
Hundreds of students of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) gathered in front of the university gate in Lanka area.
Carrying the Tricolour in their hands, people were seen singing, dancing and shouting patriotic slogans. Many of them also burst crackers to celebrate the occasion.
Similar gatherings and celebrations were evident at Godowlia and on roads leading to ghats along river Ganga and trans-Varuna localities.
